Nick Clegg congratulates Sheffield’s Wimbledon champion
The Hallamshire Tennis and Squash Club, of which Jonny Marray is a member, is located in Nick Clegg’s Sheffield Hallam constituency. Nick has written to Jonny to personally congratulate him.
Nick said:-
“I’m sure, like me, Sheffielders were delighted to see one of our own triumph in the final of the Wimbledon Championship men’s doubles competition.
“We should recognise our citizen’s outstanding achievements, so I’m pleased there will be a civic reception for our very own Wimbledon Champion.
“Celebrating Jonny’s victory is also important because it will help inspire Sheffield’s youngsters to participate in sport and achieve.”
